Jacopo Pertile — Entrepreneur, Angel Investor and Keynote Speaker on AI for operations, industry and manufacturing

I build, fund and grow companies that use technology to do concrete things. Today, above all, AI and Physical AI applied to industry.

I am the co-founder of AzzurroDigitale, founded in 2015 in Padua from a cardboard desk at Talent Garden with the idea of bringing software and data into factories. Today, with AzzurroAi, we help industrial companies adopt artificial intelligence and use it in their everyday work, so that it delivers concrete results. With MATIX, AI also meets the physical world: sensors, cloud and algorithms for the intelligent management of industrial molds.

I have experienced every phase of entrepreneurship firsthand, from founding to exit. Among the companies I co-founded is AWMS, a workforce management platform born to manage the shifts of a single plant and later acquired by the Zucchetti Group, Italy's largest software company, with over 2 billion euros in revenue. Today AWMS is the only Italian company in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for workforce management.

Alongside my entrepreneurial activity, I am an angel investor: I have supported over 30 tech startups across different sectors, including WeRoad, Jet HR and Normo.ai, which have been acquired or have already had their exit, and Bending Spoons. I am part of Italian Founders Fund and 21Gallery, I am an equity partner of OneDay Group, the holding company of WeRoad and ScuolaZoo, and I am a mentor at B-Heroes, Bocconi4Innovation and Techstart. Staying close to new founders and new business models is the best way I know to spread the value of entrepreneurship.

I also make my experience available to other companies as an advisor and board member. I sit on the board of SMACT, the North East Competence Center that supports industrial companies in innovation together with universities. I am also on the General Council of Fondazione Cariparo, one of Italy's leading banking foundations, with assets of over 2.2 billion euros. The Foundation allocates up to 100 million euros a year to social, cultural, scientific and entrepreneurial projects in the North East, and the General Council helps define its strategic direction.

I teach at CUOA Business School, at the Talent Garden Innovation School and at several universities. I am the founder of TEDxCortina, a project very close to my heart: every year we bring ideas and stories capable of inspiring to the stage.

I graduated from Bocconi University with 110 cum laude and studied at Nova SBE in Lisbon and the University of Michigan. In 2019 I attended the Singularity University Executive Program in California, dedicated to exponential technologies. I lived in New York and maintain a strong connection with the international context. Today I live between Milan and Padua with my wife Arianna and our two children Alessandro and Francesco.
